We use them in our car. And they seem to work great.

This rodent repeller works!
This works so well that I bought a second unit. I have had NO rats from day one of putting it to work. I use it outside near my bird feeders which ALWAYS and every morning and evening had rats running around enjoying the seeds that dropped from the feeder. Now, I can even put seeds on the ground for the Quail to enjoy! I am getting more Quail because NO RATS show up. I sure hope it stays effective and that the rats don't get used to it. I have told all my friends about this wonderful product and they too have reported how effective it is at keeping rats away completely.
So far so good
Saw the rat that was chewing on my engine wires and foam one night after I'd cleaned out the engine and sprayed peppermint oil everywhere, and decided to buy this. Since installing this about a month ago, I haven't seen any more rat droppings or vegetation in the engine bay. I can't say that this alone did it, since during the time that I did have alot of rodent activity, it was really rainy and cold. It's been dry and warmer since then, but this at least seems to work, whereas the peppermint spray did not at all.
Saved my car wiring! Very easy installation and effective.
After experiencing rodent damage to my vehicle's wiring harness, I needed a reliable and hassle-free solution to protect my car. I bought this battery-operated ultrasonic rodent repellent, and it exceeded my expectations! Super Easy Installation: Since it runs on 3 AA batteries, there is no complicated wiring to the car battery required. I easily mounted it under the maintenance panel in my Tesla using the included zip ties onto the metal frame structure. Great Design & Light Projection: The unit fits nicely in tight spaces. The green indicator light and bright white strobe flashes direct straight into the lower empty compartments where rodents usually try to nest. Compact & Secure: It's lightweight, so securing it with two zip ties is more than enough to keep it "suspended" firmly without touching or rubbing against sensitive electronic components. The device gives me complete peace of mind overnight. If you are dealing with pest issues around your vehicle, garage, or driveway, I highly recommend this unit. Absolutely worth every penny!
seems to work
works ok, Bat last several months with mine before needing replacement, no mice, but i have several other deterrents added too, so who knows if it works on its own, so far so good.
Functional
So far it has worked very well
Fingers crossed
Seems to work. This is a preventive installation rather than infestation problem, hope it stays that way. The ones bought earlier have done a great job keeping them out of my lawn tractor engine during winter. Just have to remember to change batteries every 45 days or so
The mice and rats HATE it
We're living in their habitat, but it doesn't mean that they should think that they have the right to choose our car as their nesting place! Their snack place. Their toilet! Perhaps overkill, but I've got TWO affixed (easily installed with the included straps) to either side of the engine bay. With the straps and the loops on the gizmo it fits anywhere. Pop in the batteries, press the test button, see the lights, hear the sound, and press the on button. You're done. So easy! The combination of light flashes and sound keeps the critters out for sure. Obviously, THEY HATE IT.
Seems to work
I believe this is working to deter rodents from inside an equipment shed we do not have electrical service to. No signs of anyone moving in since we got rid of the last and installed this.
Ultrasonic mouse repellent
No issues
Easy set up
So far I like the product. Easy to set up. Hopefully the will deter the mouse issue we are having
Very loud
Flashes and is loud, but I expect the tones to change intermittently. So the mice don't get used to it easily.
Wonderful
One of mine is in my car and I need more time to see if it's going to work. Like the instructions says, mice are smart. So far I like them
Even the chipmunk s don't go near the car
Works
It works
It seams to work.
As expected
Unit is what I expected. Too early to tell if it is working.
Works in our car
We use them in our car. And they seem to work great.
Absolutely works!
Absolutely works and helped get rid of all mice and chipmunks around our cars.
Effective
Similar to other ultrasonic devices that have been effective
*** A TINY HIGH-PITCHED DISCO FOR RODENTS ***
How bad was my rodent problem? My auto insurance agent told me that my vehicle was his first total lost due to rodent damage in 35 years. Our late model Honda became a 5-Star resort for mountain mice. Under every seat, behind the dash, in the AC vents, in the headliner and even in the door panels they resided. Snacked on the wiring and ate all the paper work in the glove box. I placed two of these ultrasonic units under the hood of our new Honda. So far, no trace of any mice. I drive the new vehicle everyday and May 01st, was 60 days operating and the AA batteries are still providing power. The units flash white and green strobes. I'm partially deaf, so I can't hear the ultrasonic sound it emits. I'll do another update in several months. At this time, the product is working.
It works
This has been the only thing I tried that actually works against mice. I even ordered more so that all vehicles and yard equipment are covered and reliable. Just need to check batteries.
This actually appears to work
I live in an urban rowhouse and keep my car on my parking pad out back just off the alley. I have tried several products (traps, sprays) to combat the squirrels and rats who have been camping out in my car, storing food and possibly chewing wires. Nothing worked. Not only has this device kept the rodents away from the car (as evidenced by no more poop in my engine area and under the vehicle), but I am also not seeing them anymore in the alley. It used to be that there were always a couple of squirrels out back waiting for my neighbor to feed them (that's another story). And a few times a week I would see a rat or two scurrying about. No more. Very happy with this device and hope it continues to work.
Works fine
I bought this for when I was going to leave my car in my sister's garage for a month. She has had problems in the past with creatures eating parts of her car. She also uses this model on two of the spaces and mine was on the third space and I have had no problem and have heard no report of problems.
Previous Rat/Mouse Problem
Working so far with mice previously camped on battery of RV.
Stops the rats from making a nest.
It's keeping the rats and rodents off the top of my water heater located outside of my home adjacent to the kitchen window. Works great.
Satisfied with the product and would recommend it.
The package arrived quickly and was well protected. I assembled the unit using the batteries and tested it right away everything worked as expected. Based on another review, I opted to use 3M automotive double-sided tape instead of zip ties for installation. I mounted it on top of my fuse box, making sure it wouldn't interfere with access. My car tends to sit for extended periods since I don't drive it daily, which is when rodents are more likely to be an issue. While I can't definitively speak to its long-term effectiveness yet, having this installed gives me peace of mind that I've taken a step to help prevent animals from getting into the engine bay and causing damage.
Batteries last pretty long.
Seems to work really well. Haven't seen any mice since using it.
It appears to be as advertised
After only a few months my new car would not start. It was found that mice had eaten wiring casings and sunflower seeds in the engine. A friend told me about rodent repellents for automobile engines. He had gotten his from Amazon for all his families vehicles. I immediately ordered one. It was delivered the next day and installed. Thank you.
I was skeptical but all rodent activity ceased after under hood instillation
I bought this for my father to use in his truck after a rat chewed a hose in the engine compartment, we live in the country surrounded by hay fields so there is a never-ending supply of rodents, since installing this product on the day of delivery, as of 12/11/25, I have not seen any more rodent activity in his vehicle. A friend of my father's uses this product to keep mice out of his tractors and other ranch equipment and swears by them. I may modify the product to run off the vehicles battery to eliminate the need for replacement batteries, but I would not recommend doing this with a vehicle that sits for long periods of time like a ranch truck as it will probably drain the battery after 9 months or so.
It works and AA batteries lasted 3 months
There was a huge pile of nutshells right where I placed the device on my engine (see pic). I vacuumed most away. I am pretty sure it was from mice infestation, not rats, though there definitely are rats running all around the yard and neighborhood at night. They are endemic here in this dreamland suburbia. Happy and fat, too. I put the alarm in my Prius on January 26. I rarely drive this car, it's a back-up car. I drive it maybe once a week. I check the device every few weeks by opening the hood and switching into the TEST mode which gives off a sound and a few beeps to let me know it is still working. Also, it may be helpful to know that there were a lot of rainstorms this Winter and my car is kept in the driveway. No function issues with the device relating to the wet weather. And it has been 100% effective! Zero nuts or evidence of return of the mice. Before this device, I would use the peppermint spray that I bought on Amazon every couple of weeks. What a pain. It did nothing to stop them, btw. Today I was walking by my car (April 28) and I heard this unusual beep. I realized it was the device signaling that the battery needed to be replaced. So the three AAA batteries lasted exactly 3 months in this car that I rarely drive. So happy with all of that! I waited to write about the device until I knew how long the battery would last so that this review would have some value to you folks out there. Good luck. UPDATE July 22nd, 3 months later: Again walking by the Prius I heard the beep indicating a low battery. Easy swap out of the 3 AA batteries. (My original message said AAA batteries which was incorrect and I corrected it now.) So it looks like this little device needs a battery swap out every 3 months. Again, I use this car infrequently, so I don't know how that affects the battery life. I am happy to report still no return of mice! Yay! New updated pic added today.
It works!
It works! After spending a thousand bucks on wiring damage to my Mercedes, installed this and haven't had any issues since.
For the price, it is worth trying!
I put one in my barn, and I hope it will keep the mice out of my Kubota tractor! It has only been there a few days, and it has been very cold, so we will see how good it is!
Works well
The device is working very well. It only requires 3 batteries
Works for Attics
OK, so not exactly what it's intended for but I don't have an electrical outlet in my attic and I've had sonic repellers in the past that didn't do anything. So I wanted an inexpensive way to try up there. This one fit the bill. I looked at a number of these ultrasonic repellers, and they are generally said you should be prepared to wait a month before the pests go away. Maybe I was lucky. Sounds from the attic were about the same the day I installed it. The next day they were gone. After a month there was no sign of them coming back. The batteries were still going strong when I took it down. I wasn't looking forward to crawling through the attic every month to replace the batteries, so got a plugin type with a proper extension cord (one that has speakers in multiple directions). I didn't replace it right away though. I figured I'd wait to see if they came back. It only took 2 days and I heard noises again. The plugin one works just as well as the battery one. I'll probably rehome the battery one to the basement where it's easier to replace batteries. As for noise levels. I didn't hear much. Maybe something when the white light went on, but otherwise it seems silent (I have sensitive hearing so was really happy about this). Bonus, the dog didn't even twitch when I turned it on nearby. I also like that the ties they come with include a quick release so you can reuse them.
It worked for me
I had a squirrel that took up residence in the engine bay of my car and started eating the wiring. I tried using a mint spray deterrent that seemed to work for awhile, but he apparently decided he liked the scent. Then I read about this device and gave it a try. I've been using it now for almost 3 weeks and that guy hasn't been back.
Works surprisingly well
I was skeptical. But I have to say, I think it's pretty clear this is working for me. I was spotting a very large number of droppings under our car, and more were appearing every night. We live in the city, and there is nothing I can do to keep rats away from our open air parking spot, so I turned to this ultrasonic device for prevention. Upon installing this, as well as using some spray, the problem seemed to go away. One or two droppings every couple weeks, but never the dozen or more I would wake up to on a daily basis. Then the other day, I heard the warning that the batteries had run out for the first time. When I pulled out of the parking spot, sure enough, there was a slew of droppings for the first time in months, after the batteries having been dead for no more than 48 hours. I replaced the batteries, and in the weeks since, no signs of rats at all. Despite the fact that, one night, a neighbor left a bag of trash on the ground, and I saw a family of them feasting no more than 15 feet away from my car. Despite the easy access, they didn't come to the car. A couple pretty clear and obvious test cases that the rats seem to hate this sound. Very satisfied!
It works
I just purchased a second one of these to place on the other side of my engine compartment across from the first. Rodents ate some wires in my car last year, leading me to install this animal repeller along with Irish Spring soap at the sides of the compartment and a box of mothballs underneath the car when it's parked. This all seemed to work really well and I didn't have any problems for quite awhile. It was so successful, actually, that I stopped taking the threat seriously and with everything else going on, put it out of my mind. Well apparently I missed the most recent alert to replace the batteries (the device beeps faintly when the batteries are dying) and lo and behold, more damage! My own fault (or maybe my landlord's for the lack of pest control? ha). But I feel more confident now that I have two, both have fresh batteries, and I refreshed the soap bar and mothball supply as well. We'll see! If this is useful: the device is about the size of my palm (I'm small). It has one tiny screw to the battery compartment, and comes with a little screwdriver and 8 small zip ties. I used more substantial zip ties last time and pulled them pretty tight. I don't recommend this as it's difficult to cut them off without damaging whatever you've tied it to. Leave a little space if you can. There's a test button so you can check that it's working anytime. Definitely check the batteries every few months, as you might not always hear the beeping alert. All of these measures are worth it to avoid what can amount to VERY costly repairs.
easy installation.
Compact and easy to install and so far no new rodent infestation even though the weather has turned cold. bb
Use Engine Cleaner
This has been most effective against rats in the engine bay. I have tried many other methods from peppermint spray to dryer sheets (LOL). Given there are other cars nearby, hopefully the rats have moved to a quieter neighborhood. Since there is abundant food around, my rats seemed to use the engine space for sleeping. I recommend using engine cleaner to thoroughly remove all debris and scent before installing this ultrasonic repellent. I installed the AA battery version. The life of the batteries vary depending on how often the vehicle is used.
Squirrels and chipmunks don't hang around for long.
Squirrels and chipmunks choose to hang around for a while, though not for long. Seems like the car engine or the attic are not favored lounges with the ultrasound engaged.
Good deal for the price and it is working properly
The ultrasonic rodent repellent seems to be working properly, and it is a very good deal. Use to have a rodent problem, now it seems to be working cause the rodent activity got minimized tremendously.
It's Easy
It's easy to install and the quality is good but I don't know if it really works, two successive nights, when I checked the underhood I could still see rats poo.
Works
Seems to be working under the hood of my showcar.. so far so good
Works For Me.
Electronic rodent repellers can be hit or miss but this one has stopped rats from eating the wiring of my Miata.
Seems to Work For Now - Will Update if Needed
This gadget is still going strong after a month. Got it to deter mice from interior of car. They made it to my engine bay before, so this is part of a multi-faceted approach to rodent deterrent. It stays on the arm rest while driving (and sometimes is going off and on at slow speeds). Since I don't have evidence of more mice activity, I would say this might be helping. It gives me peace of mind having it. It is very quiet, seems to be constructed well (plastic) and looks like it will hold up. The batteries probably last 3 months, which is worth it. It's easy to use and glad I bought it.
Practical, Convenient, and Easy-to-Use Rodent Repellent
I'm very satisfied with this ultrasonic rodent repellent. For price, it offers excellent value and is a simple and convenient option for helping keep unwanted rodents away from vehicles, garages, storage areas, and other spaces. One of the things I like most is the quiet operation. There is no noticeable or disturbing sound during normal use, so it can operate without becoming an annoyance. The device is also compact and easy to install without taking up much space. The battery life has been excellent as well. I appreciate not having to constantly recharge or replace the battery, which makes the device much more convenient for long-term use. Once installed, it requires very little attention. I also like that it provides an alternative to traditional traps, poisons, and chemicals. The indicator lights make it easy to confirm that the unit is operating, and the overall construction feels practical and well designed. Considering the affordable price, quiet operation, good battery life, and ease of use, I think this product provides excellent value for the money.
Practical and functional
I'm very satisfied with this rodent repellent. The device is compact, easy to install, and the ultrasonic sound and flashing lights make it a convenient option for keeping rodents away from my vehicle. I like that it doesn't require traps or chemicals, making it a cleaner and more practical solution. The build quality also feels solid. So far, it has been easy to use and gives me peace of mind knowing I have an extra layer of protection against rodents. Pros: Easy to install, compact design, no chemicals, and convenient to use.
Very effective and of great quality
I bought this ultrasonic repellent and it has worked wonderfully. The best thing is that it does not use toxic chemicals, so it is completely safe for the family and pets. Since I connected it, I noticed the difference in the area. I love that it is so discreet, compact and has USB connection options. It is an excellent clean alternative and without annoying odors to keep rodents and pests away. Very happy with the purchase!
A Great Option for the Home
I really like this ultrasonic rodent repellent. It's easy to set up, works quietly, and doesn't require chemicals or unpleasant-smelling traps. It's a convenient option for helping keep rodents away from the home. I definitely recommend it and would buy it again!
Practical and Easy to Use
I really like this rodent repellent. It's compact and easy to install, especially for use in a car or garage. The LED lights make it easy to tell when it's working, and the size is very convenient. So far, it has been a great option for helping keep rodents away from my vehicle. I'm happy with the purchase!
Really good product
I'm really happy with this rodent repellent. I use it in my car, and I like having the extra protection against mice, rats, squirrels, and other little critters getting under the hood. It's especially nice because rodents can leave a mess or damage wires if they get inside the engine area. The lights are bright, and the unit is easy to set up. So far, I'm very happy with it and feel better knowing I have something helping keep unwanted visitors away from my car.
Easy to use
It is easy to carry and place anywhere. I tried it at home and I liked it because it makes a beep that doesn't bother and the LED light turns on and off intermittently. It is small, practical and so far it has seemed like a good option to keep rodents away.
Ultrasonic repeller
These ultrasonic rodent repellers for vehicles (model AR28) are designed primarily to protect a car's internal components from pests such as rats, mice, squirrels, and weasels. During cold or rainy weather, rodents seek shelter in the engine compartment, where they often chew on electrical wiring, hoses, and plastic parts, causing costly mechanical breakdowns. The device emits variable high-frequency sound waves (between 18 kHz and 36 kHz) that are inaudible to humans but extremely irritating to rodents, forcing them to stay away. The device's "cat's eyes" feature uses bright, flashing LEDs to dazzle and scare off animals within the dark engine compartment. It includes an automatic sensor that detects when the car is started; the device enters standby mode while driving and automatically reactivates a few minutes after parking, thereby saving energy. This product is highly functional and easy to install; my husband really liked this purchase because it protects the car's systems.
Si Aleja a los roedores
Great product for protecting my car! I bought this to keep mice and other rodents away from my car engine, and so far I'm very happy with it. It was easy to install, the flashing LED lights are bright, and I like that it uses ultrasonic sound without chemicals or traps. The unit feels well made and the setup was very simple. Having two units in the pack is also a big plus because I can place them in different areas for extra protection. So far, I haven't noticed any new signs of rodents around my vehicle. It gives me peace of mind knowing my wiring and engine area have an extra layer of protection. Definitely recommend it if you're having problems with mice or squirrels around your car!
Excellent option to protect the rodent engine: effective and easy to install
I bought this ultrasonic rodent repellent (Model AR28) to protect my vehicle's engine and prevent animals from biting the wires, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the results. The combination of ultrasonic waves with the flashing light turns out to be very effective in keeping mice and other pests away without the need to use toxic chemicals or annoying traps; in addition, its installation is quick, its size is quite compact to easily place it under the hood or in the garage, and the quality of the materials feels resistant, so it is an indispensable investment if you seek to prevent expensive mechanical repairs and keep your property free of pests.
Rodent Repellent
Effective
After having a costly auto repair I bought two for my 2022 Kia Rio LX sedan. So far so good the rodents are scurrying away. No more costly repairs for money that I don't have best hundred bucks I've spent on these little devices I have a total of four.
Repelente
Este repelente de roedores me ah funcionado dejaba mi carro en mi parqueo y siempre había roedores dentro de mi carro y desde que coloqué esto no uno muy bueno
Good product
This product is very good, I put it under the car and it has not entered the engine or squirrels or mice since I live on a farm
Practical and Easy to Install
Easy to install and a good size. It feels sturdy and is a practical option to help keep rodents away from the vehicle.
Works great, highly recommend
I bought this to deal with a rodent problem and it honestly works like a charm. Super easy to set up and I haven't seen any signs of mice since I installed it. It does exactly what it says, totally worth it
Repelente ultrasónico de roedores
Good product, it helps me a lot with rodents, it's effective
No more mice!!
love it!!
Excellent
We loved the size, it's ideal, very good purchase
Perfect for my car
Very good product. No noise and small size
Good
Excellent product! I bought it to keep insects away from my car and it has worked very well. It is easy to use and lasts a long time. Since I started using it I have noticed a big difference. I totally recommend it to anyone who wants to keep their vehicle clean and protected
Just do it, I haven't had any attacks on my wiring since I installed this.
Has worked well, nothing to report.
Works well!
These work well. We live in a rural area with mice, squirrels, bunnies and occasional pack rats who like to nest underneath our vehicle hoods and/or eat the wires. We put these underneath the hoods every night and no more pests!
Update to changes
So, based on the mostly positive reviews I decided to give these a try. I even went above and beyond to prepare my car, as I had the engine compartment professionally cleaned to get rid of any trace of prior rodent activity. I placed one of these in the engine compartment using the ties, and the other sits in the cubby near the gear shift. For the first couple of months, I didn't see any activity. However, one day I am driving and my odometer stops working. Then the check engine light comes on followed by the steering indicator light. And about the same time I lose power steering. Took it to our mechanic and sure enough, rodents had chewed through several wires causing the problem. Fortunately it only cost $270.00 to fix. I say fortunately, because our Toyota Corolla had $2,500.00 in rodent damage about seven years prior. Needless to say, these Ultrasonic Rat Repellants didn't do jack! 8/23/22 I have an update and in turn, I am raising my rating. So, after they didn't work as described, I decided to try them with the sound on (in Test mode). And guess what? After 3 weeks of parking it in the same spot, they did not eat the wires again. In fact, I see no evidence of them being in the engine compartment since the last episode. I will continue to use them with the sound on. If they didn't work for anyone else in the Ultrasonic mode, then try them with the sound on. It has worked for me so far.
Very Effective At Deterring Furry Critters of the Rodentia Order of Mammals
Looked over many rodent repellent products from sprays to herbal scented bags to various electronic gadgets. Needed something for 2 vehicles receiving unwanted visitors on a 40 acre ranch. Happened to run into someone at a local dive bar who highly recommended this product as the only thing that removed the unwanted furry critters from their vehicle where considerable nesting was occurring. Rolled the dice and ordered a pair. Damn skippy if these didn't do the trick. Have now ordered a 2nd pair for the other vehicle. Like that they are battery operated and not hardwired. Placed one in the engine compartment and the other at back end of an extended length passenger van. Could admittedly use a 3rd one in the van for maximum effectiveness, but 2 have largely removed the rodents completely! Highly recommend. Thank you, stranger in a local dive bar!
Keeps the mice away
Definitely keeps the rodents away! I have one out of my garden shed and haven't had a problem since I put it out there. Battery seemed to last for quite a while as well.
So far it is working....
In the rainy weather rats are trying to find a warm dry place in the engine of my car. (I park outside). Last year - having spent over $1000. in repairs, I had the engine steam cleaned. Now, I use Bounce dryer sheets (rats hate them) tied onto anyplace I can tie them. I check the engine every day during this rainy time and replenish the Bounce sheets AND still I saw rat droppings a few weeks ago. I cleaned up what I saw with disinfectant and then went and bought this device. I place them both in the engine. I take them out every time I am going to drive - they can be attached - but I want to be sure I check the engine and don't mind moving them into or out of the engine. So far have not seen any further droppings. I might change to 5 star if I get through the rainy season, but it has only been a few weeks, so now it is a 4 star.
So Far So Good!
The product itself is robust and I'm happy with it. I purchased a two-pack which I am using to deter rodents from eating into wire harnesses on my car. It's been less than a month so I cannot report if this is a successful deterrent or not for my purposes since not enough time has passed that I can be assured that they actually work.
Electronic Animal Repellent
I'm optimistic the Animal Repellent (2) will take care of the issue of a / or more rodents nesting under the hood of my new SUV. I'll be following up on how well these two devices have worked, and my present opinion is they will be successful. 13 December 2020: It has been approximately week ago I started using the devices and so far no signs of nesting under my hood. Hopefully it stays this way and now let's see how long the batteries last. I'm very pleased so far! 7 January 2021: I'm impressed in that there have not been signs of the rodents moving back into my engine compartment, and I have not had to replace the batteries as of today. I've been checking under the hood every other day and will continue to check as time moves on!
So far, so good.
Purchased these after my parents bought one for their vehicle. So far, seems to be working. Just bought a 23 Taco and less than 10k already had a nest in the air box prior to ordering these. The Santa Fe Toyota dealer said over 1/2 of the people who get serviced have rodent nests under the hood here in NM. They are bad here and they carry Hantavirus. Hopefully having these in both of our vehicles will keep the mice out. So far, so good.
Rodent Repeller
After dealership showed me rodent nest under hood of my car, I purchased this item. I put one on motorcycle in garage and one under hood of my husband's pickup, which is parked outside. I keep hood of my car up when it's parked in garage. No sign of rodents.
Easy to install, but battery replacement is really annoying.
Installing 3 AA batteries and using the included nylon zip ties under the car hood is super easy. Turn on the red power switch, it begin to work. The only annoying design of this repellent is difficulty to replace the 3 AA batteries. Have to cut off the nylon zip ties every time, then flipped over to open the battery compartment door in the back side. Finally, re-tied with new nylon zip ties. Wishing the battery compartment door can be opened from the LED/Speaker front side instead of hidden in the back so that I don't have to cut off and re-install the new zip ties. I deducted 2 stars from 5 on "Ease to install" due to the battery replacement.
So far so good
I definitely have mice in my garage, and I wanted to do everything possible to avoid chewed wiring. I put one unit under the hood and one on the ground under the engine area. Still no issues after a couple months.
Optimistic
I just received it a couple of days ago. It arrived on time, it was packaged well, and included thorough instructions, zip ties, and extra screws for the battery compartment. I've tried a similar device with no success deterring squirrels, but am hoping this one will do the trick. The difference is that the last device ran off the car battery power rather than its own batteries. We don't drive the car much so we think it may have stopped working when the squirrels got to it, as it was made to shut itself off if the car battery got too low, as to not completely drain the battery. I'll update this review if we have any troubles.
Looks like picture
I would give it a higher score, but unfortunately, I won't know if it works until it's been in use for a while. So far it's only been about a month. It was fairly uncomplicated to install: I put one in the engine compartment as well as in the trunk. Time will tell, but for now it's some peace of mind knowing that this is the best option I could find, and the device looks like it's doing something with the flashing lights.
Did the Trick
I had quite a few mice break into my van for more than a few months. It was a miserable time. Since attaching these around the outside of the van (under the hood, by the wheels, etc), I haven't run into a mouse. After the batteries ran out, I heard another mouse in the hood and quickly replaced the batteries. Still no more mice and I'm super thankful these have been helping me keep my van-home mouse free. 4/5 simply because the design makes it hard to attach and change the batteries without completely cutting the zip ties and re-installing and because after they got wet a few times they stopped working, but I'm getting more!
Easy to install
The device appears to be well built. The four slots on the edges and the included zip ties made it easy to install, although I used wire ties on one side so that I can access the compartment under the device more easily to change batteries every month. Would have preferred the that battery cover pops in like on most remote controls rather than having to deal with removing and replacing the tiny screw that holds it in place. Not sure yet how effective this is in keeping the mice out of my engine compartment since I have only had it for a week.
Some review said not so great but these work for me. Not a sign of rodents in airplane.
Working for me!
Seemed to work for squirrels
We had squirrels storing and eating walnuts in engine compartment of truck. After I put the devices aimed at where they usually sat, I found walnuts on the other side the first day. After that, I checked each day and there were no more walnuts, but tracks still under the truck, so they appear to have relocated. I've had the devices less than a month. One of them only makes a tiny noise when I do the test, even with a new battery. If they only last a month, they are not a good buy.
RATS!
I recently moved to a cabin on 40 acres and after a few days found a nest under the hood of my Jeep. I was told it was a pack rat nest and that they would eat my wiring. I ordered the battery operated repellent and have not seen a nest since it was installed. I also put one under the house in the crawl space because I noticed droppings. I cleaned up a space so I could keep track. I am still seeing small droppings but I haven't found the bigger ones since it was installed.
Rodent replent
I used for grage , kitchen, so far i don't see any mice , bug , must be working. Great purchase !!
Rat Repellent: Does It Really Work?
I think they are working. The circumstances are such that one doesn't know if they are working unless you get a failure. I haven't gotten a failure (chewed wiring) in the two weeks they have been installed. I'm hopeful though that this may be working and will keep the critters away. The only other comment I would make is that I wish the design would be changed to allow more time between battery changes. I think I will have to remove and then reinstall one of my units every time I need to replace the batteries. That will be a major headache.
Work fine. No rats so far
I have had rats problems in my car for years. They chewed up my wires, made nests out of the air filter, and even died under the hood. I have tried baits, mint oil, mesh, etc. Just found out they came in my car interior few months ago. Nasty! I bought two ultrasonic repellents a week ago and hoped they would work wonder and keep rats away from my car forever. No rats in my car so far. The products are easy to use and install. Need 3 AA batteries.
Easy to install, effectiveness TBD
Easy install. All set up and running in 2 cars within minutes. Zip ties supplied seem nice and sturdy. Opted for the wireless version for ease of install and after reading about mice chewing through the wires on the wired version. Haven't kept it long enough to verify battery life or ability to keep mice out. I've had to clean fairly large nests out of my air intake basically every year, so it will be easy enough to tell if this makes a difference in that time.
